nano Statistics
Linux Commands - Shells

nano provides a command so that you can get a list of the number of lines, characters and words in a file.

Lesson 7 | Lesson 9

Use the command M-D, remember this is Alt-D.  Note the "-" and that it is a capital "D".  When you do that you will get a list at the bottom center with the information you wanted.

To see your current location in the file use the ^C which will provide you with that information.
