Static and Dynamic routes |
Static Routing Static routing is when you manually set up the IP route. Static routing benefits are, little or no overhead on the routers CPU, no bandwidth usage between routers, and increased security. This increases security by only allowing users to see and use certain resources. Disadvantages are one little incorrect entry and it is all messed up, every time a router is added you must manually update all of your routers that are on the network, and if you had a very large network it would take to much time to configure it all.
