Routed and Routing Protocols Routed Protocols deliver data between routers, two examples IP and IPX. Routing Protocols are used to maintain and build routing tables. Memory Tip: Routed delivers, routing builds. Examples of routing protocols are RIP and IGRP Routing tables are either built dynamically or manually. Packet destination addresses are compared to the routing table’_ entries. If it matches one of the entries it is sent along its route from one host to another host on another network. If it does not match an entry in the table it is sent along the default route address.
