I'm confused about why someone would use guest session? why would you log in to no rights? isn't that what it does? for security or what? I tested it and I couldn't do anything but use the browser and general desktop |

Guest session was a new feature for the Ubuntu 8.10 Intrepid Ibex Linux desktop. Guest session allows users to use the user-switcher applet to select, a password-less account for a guest to use. This account will not allow them to permanently save any files or open administrative options. You can use Ubuntu’s guest session and loan your computer to a friend or let a classmate check their email, worry-free.

Here's a link to a video on the Ubuntu 8.10 guest session shows how to change to a guest session from a regular user account on the Ubuntu 8.10 Intrepid Ibex desktop. |

Guest Session is for when that loser in your biology class wants to check his email on your laptop. |
