Network Troubleshooting

Under the Netstat tab, you can take a look at routing table information. This can help you out if you have trouble connecting to either the Internet, or to other segments of your Local Area Network.
Network Security
Use the Port Scan utility to help identify security holes on other computers. As you can see, we have quite a few open ports on this particular computer. You can now verify which of these ports that you really need open, and re-configure that computer's firewall accordingly.
Access Shared Folders
There are other ways to share files with family or co-workers. If you have nothing but Linux computers on your network, then you can use the Network File System, or NFS. If you have a mixed-operating system environment, with both Linux and Windows computers on your network, then you can use Samba.
