The first glimpse of Gutsy Gibbon is that it is basically the same initial look. A similar background and theme as well as the usual well designed menu with easy to find options.

Initial impressions will change quickly when you realize that by default the Visual Effects feature is set to Normal, which for one thing allows you to move between workspaces by placing the cursor close to the edge...it is unnerving the first time it happens. The visual effects of menus opening and closing is very nice and smooth.
