Greetings from the Heart of Dixie! Yes, I'm a redneck, yes, I am a geek, and I also enjoy susi. An odd combo I know!
I've been following the Linux movement for quite some time, was first exposed to it about 6 years ago. While certainly usable back then I didn't feel it was ready for primetime on my machine. That is all about to change. I'm looking forward to adopting a distro of my own, and continue playing WoW. Everyone tells me to go with Ubuntu, but I'm not keen on reinstalling every six months when a new release is made. I'm liking the idea of BSD's ports, compiling local; but I also think that a rolling distro such as Arch has it's advantages -- namely reinstalls. I've also tried Gnome and KDE and not really fond of either, I've tried Xfce, but it didn't feel quite right. Finally I found Lxde and tried that on a PClinuxOS live disk and I like the feel there. Might get froggy and do a PClinuxOS install, and then try an Arch when I'm feeling REALLY froggy!
BTW, I'm following @BeginLinux on Twitter as @Somhlth keep up the informative tweets!
