Autofill will provide a method of either entering the same number multiple times or incrementing numbers. If the goal is to fill several cells with the same number click on the cell with the number, hold down and highlight all the cells to fill. Next, choose Edit and Fill down,up or a series, in the example it is down.

If you need to increment the numbers, click on the cell with the number that you will start with and then hold the left click down while you drag to the cell that will complete the list. Notice that you will drag using the automatic fill handle which is to the right of the cell and appears when you click the cell.
