The first new feature you will notice with Calc is the better looking interface. With OpenOffice users will be able to focus on intuitive icons for finding most aspects of configuration.

Calc now features better import and export of spin buttons and scroll bars. The old ones were from Microsoft Office 95 but the new ones are from Microsoft Office 97.

There is a new implementation of the Excel export formula compiler. This is actually used in simple formula cells, shared formula cells, array formulas, conditions of formatting, source cell range in list validation and source ranges of auto and advanced formulas.

Calc will now import Lotus versions up to version 9.7.

The Hyperlink function in Calc is now supported.
