One of the most powerful impacts on todays IT is the fact that virtualization is everywhere. Taking one server and breaking it into a number of smaller servers offers flexibility and saves on hardware resources.
VirtualBox is often used on the desktop through its GUI interface. Sometimes, though, you'll need to run it on a headless server somewhere on the internet. Our demonstration setup today is on a Debian 7 (Wheezy) system, and the virtual machine we're creating will use a placeholder of $VM for its name.
