Printing Spreadsheet Project

In this project you will set up a spreadsheet to print. In the example you will create a spreadsheet that will allow you to write in the style number of a shoe, the type, the company, whether its mens or womens, the cost and the sizes that are to be ordered. This example can be used for many different types of spreadsheets. The point of the exercise is to understand how to setup a spreadsheet to be printed off and used as a hard copy. First setup the spreadsheet with the appropriate titles in the columns.

After all the appropriate headings are in place go to Format, page.

Go to the page tab and change the orientation to Portrait or Landscape. Her you can also change the width and height of your spreadsheet if you printer supports larger paper. Landscape is a style where the page is wider than it is tall. Portrait is just the opposite.

Next go to the farthest bottom right corner and put a period in the box.

Select the cell with the period and change the font color of the period to white. What this does is force the program to print the grid lines for the entire space even without values in the cells.

Next go to File, Page Preview.

Notice how the page looks with all the grid on the spreadsheet.

Finally go to Format, Page and then the header tab. Click the Edit button.

And then edit the header of your project so that it displays a title to your project. Put any other information that would be relevant. You can follow the same steps to edit the footer in the project. This project was designed to be a hard copy exercise but you could also use the skill in the previous exercises to develop this into a digital project.
