Hi, its Rbrownlie again. I stopped using Linux Mint due to the fact thatit will not generate sound on my laptop. a member of this website recommended me to Fedora, and I have some trouble installing it. How do I start the installation?

I checked fedora and other distros for you particular chip for sound and the problem is the same. I located Fedora, Ubuntu and Linux Mint users who has similar problems with that sound chip.

Unfortunately, this is part of the hassle with Linux is that drivers are not easily acquired for some chips as they are made specifically for Microsoft and the source code to build drivers for some chips is not available.

alright ok thanks for telling me this. I'm just going to install Linux Mint again, and I will not mind the fact that there is no sound, but I really appreciate all your help.
