To change the default font setup on the Fedora 8 desktop just open up the Appearance Preferences window by selecting System --- Preferences --- Look and Feel --- Appearance. With the Appearance Preferences window open select the Fonts tab. Now we can see a list of areas different fonts appear. We can change each of these individually by clicking on the font. Next just choose font options in the Pick a Font window including font family, style, and size. After closing the Pick a Font window we can also see controls for rendering including monochrome, best shapes, best contrast, and sub pixel smoothing. When you are finished click on the close button.
