Desktop Training - Fedora 8

The theme of your desktop often sets the mood for productivity. If you're not happy with the default custom theme of fedora 8 you can easily change it. To change the theme we need to select System --- Administration --- Preferences --- Look and Feel --- Appearance.

This brings up the Appearance Preferences window.

appearence preferences

The first tab in the Appearances Preferences window. In the display window we can see thumbnails that represent the available themes. Clicking on a theme activates it and works as a preview. Across the bottom we can pick delete, which will remove the selected theme. Save as which brings up a window to specify name and description to save the theme as. After clicking on customize users can change the controls, colors, window borders, icons, and pointers. Selecting install offers the option to install a theme we have located on our hard drive.
